Assignment #5 - Portraiture
My dad: A construction business owner for a veryyyyyyy long time. I chose to shoot him in front of this tractor because its his oldest one and says his business name on the side. I also just loved this tractor, my dad hates it and he didn't understand why I would want to photograph such an old one when he has really nice ones. I guess I liked that it is old like him, and showed his experience :)
The picture on the left is my mom on her wedding day, I looked every where and made a million phone calls trying to find her original dress, but I guess it got sent to DI. The picture on the right is my version of it. I found it really hard to match the lighting, and focus, and then in lightroom changing the colors was difficult as well. I couldnt seem to get the blue in the picture away without making it look like i obviously pulled all the blue out. Anyways, I had fun with this one.
Things I learned: Its a lot harder to capture someone how they really are and not just how they act in front of the camera. Also, I would love to learn how to match the coloring with my mom's wedding picture with my current one. I just couldn't figure out how to get it right.
